WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Since receiving rehabilitation from ALR my range of movement keeps improving and my strength is now close to the pre surgery level which is great. My energy is so much better too.

My posture has improved and I’m much more aware of what I can do to keep it that way.

So reassuring to have a plan and support to prevent lymphoedema. With all the cancer related worries it means there is one less thing to worry about.

What would you like to say to someone on the fence about seeking rehabilitation or lymphoedema management following a cancer diagnosis?

Do it!  Be patient. Improvements won’t happen overnight. Ask questions about your treatment - eg what and how long and what can I do myself to help.  Even outside of physical help, it’s good to talk to someone about your experience with life after cancer treatments.

Talking to the ALR team made me realise I could feel better physically and mentally and just needed physio help and support.

What would you like to say to someone on the fence about seeking rehabilitation or lymphoedema management following a cancer diagnosis?

Don’t wait - do it NOW.  And while you may not feel or see immediate progress the internal benefits are significant and will make a massive difference in the long run.

The swelling in my neck area (lymphoedema from radiation treatment) reduced back to normal over several weeks of treatment and the area is now normal everyday

Great friendly and knowledgable experts who actually take an interest and look at the bigger picture of ones situation.  Also open to looking at anything that benefits the patients outcome and experience.

My swelling from lymphoedema has greatly reduced on face and neck although some has reappeared after a recent second surgery which Nadia is now helping with. My left shoulder now has normal mobility again while my right shoulder continues to improve and get increased strength and mobility. After my first surgery I could not put washing on the line but now I can do that using both arms.

What would you like to say to someone on the fence about seeking rehabilitation or lymphoedema management following a cancer diagnosis?

Definitely go ahead with it. The physio certain helps and gets you back to as close to normal as possible. It makes you feel better and more positive about your recovery. Nadia is very knowledgeable and encouraging.

The service and care are tops. All systems run smoothly. The new location is great lovely surroundings and good motorway access with good parking available.
