What services do you provide?We provide prehabilitation and rehabilitation for adults and children with a cancer diagnosis. Rehabilitation can start as soon as the diagnosis is made and we can be accessed long after treatment has been completed if you are having ongoing side effects. Our therapists are also certified Lymphoedema Therapists and provide assessment and management for cancer related lymphoedema with a strong focus on lymphoedema prevention. ​ Please note we do not provide physiotherapy services/rehabilitation under ACC

Do I need a referral?No. You can book an appointment directly with any of the therapists at ALR. We do suggest you bring as much medical information with you as possible such as surgical reports, Medication lists or hospital discharge letters.

Please ensure you provide a minimum of 2 working days notice for cancellation to avoid being liable for cancellation fees.

How long should I book my appointment for?If you have or suspect you have lymphoedema, please book for 60 mins. If you are seeing us pre-operatively or before starting treatment, the initial sessions last 45minutes long. The physio will gather information about your injury and assess and formulate a treatment plan for you.

Will my insurance cover the costs?If you have health insurance, most policies cover physiotherapy but this can vary depending on the insurance provider and level of cover you have. If you are uncertain it's best to check with your insurance company in advance. Some insurance policies require a referral or pre-authorisation - again check with your insurance company. Following your appointment we will invoice you directly and once paid we can provide a receipt for you to use for reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Do you provide home visits?Yes this can be arranged in certain circumstances, please contact the team to discuss this further.

Is there disability/wheelchair access?If you have any mobility issues let us know, and we can arrange for reception to come down and swipe you into the underground parking and escort you up.

What do I need to bring to my first physio appointment?Bring any relevant information that may include your surgical report, doctor’s referral, hospital discharge letters or medication list. You may also bring a pair or shorts or a singlet to change into if you wish. If you already have compression garments, please bring them with you so we can assess the fit and condition of the garments.
